Voice Actor Jeremy Delvalle

By: The Don

Jeremy Delvalle is a local film actor and voice actor. He is still relatively new to the industry, but is still going strong. Jeremy loves Method Acting. To emotionally connect and portray every character he plays on screen is a trait that most actors fail to deliver to the audience. Like all of us, he hates early mornings, but he does not let that stop him from doing what he loves to do. He is also exploring other fields in the film industry!

Interview

What is your name?

Jeremy Alexander Delvalle.

How long have you been in the film industry?

About three years now.

What do you currently do within the field?

I’ve been working part time in some independent films in my three year course.

What originally got you into film?

Being able to portray a different character, being able to lose yourself and become someone completely different.

What do you love most about working in film?

The happiness films and shows bring to people.

What do you hate most about film?

I’d say the early mornings haha.

Do you mainly work in Philly or other places too?

I live in Philly so it’s been mostly just projects here, but if the opportunity arises, I’d be willing to work pretty much anywhere.

What did it feel like acting for the first time?

It felt natural to be honest. I’ve always swayed my persona to be other than myself, so I felt right at home.

Does it get any easier?

Every project will have its ups and downs. It’s up to the crew and staff to be able to power through any obstacle.

What has been your favorite character so far?

My most current character as “The Driver” which is basically a psychotic henchman of sorts.

What film was your character “The Driver” from?

I play The Driver for my upcoming film Center City 2.

Do you have any upcoming role(s)?

Wrapping up an ongoing project.

Is acting what you wanted to do originally or did you want to explore other filming fields?

Acting and voice acting have always been my dream. Just being a part of small projects have been amazing so far.

Did you study film or did you just go into it?

No school training… more of a method actor. Everything I do comes from my soul. Method acting comes from the heart and the sheer will to become someone else.

Is there a character you are dying to act as?

I’d say a father who has to do ANYTHING to protect his family.

What type of voice work have you done?

I’ve done some intro work for a few buddies and landed a trailer voice over for Strange Films.

How has life been during the COVID-19 pandemic as an actor?

To be honest. Not a lot of work since COVID hit.

Have you been working during this hard and difficult time?

I’ve been working my normal 9-5.

Is life on set different now?

From the recent acting jobs I’ve been on, YES. Sometimes filmed individually.

Has the pandemic changed how you act or acting?

Not really, just the environment for the most part. Not my way of acting per say.

What adversities have you experienced on set?

For myself, nothing of the sort. Other than waiting for my co-stars to get their lines right, I haven’t had too many big opportunities so those adversities haven’t arose.

Do you plan to enter other parts of the entertainment industry like writing or directing?

I’ve actually been writing some stuff down and getting it into the proper format.

What is your favorite genre?

I’d say horror/psycho thriller.

Who is your favorite celebrity?

Daniel Day Lewis.

Why is Daniel Day Lewis your favorite celebrity?

He is just such a talented method actor who plays his role to the Tee.

What is your favorite film with Daniel Day Lewis?

Gangs of New York (2002). He dug incredibly deep for that role.

What is your favorite movie?

A Clockwork Orange (1971).

Are you the first in your family to go into film?

Yes I am the very first.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?

I see myself playing in major voice acting roles and Commercials/Infomercial type of gigs. I pride myself on my voice and how I control it.

What advice do you have other people interested in film?

I’d say just never give up. This can be a very tedious and strenuous lifestyle. If you are serious about it, you would know to never bend nor break.
