“Billy Eichner Santa wants to deliver presents through Amazon Prime.” 

I watched Noelle on Disney plus last night at 1 in the morning, which may have had an influence on my opinions, but I had a jolly old time. It’s about Noelle (Anna Kendrick) and Nick Cringle (Bill Hader) who are Santa’s kids and have to take over for their dad when he dies. Nick is supposed to take on the duties but it’s painfully obvious that Noelle is the one who’s really supposed to be Santa. And yeah, this is a kids movie, but you can have a complex kids movie that isn’t incredibly predictable with loose messages.

They’re trying to go for women can do anything men can do vibe which is sweet. I like me a female Santa but it comes off really bad and poorly written for the first 2/3 of the movie. The North Pole is kinda a dick to women. It’s like you’re the girl and has to do nothing but support your brother and make pretty little cards all day, which seems pretty naughty to me. But besides the messy morals this movie is damn cute. It ain’t amazing and it won’t be a classic but it makes a really fun Christmas movie. Its story isn’t super original but there are some very funny moments and cute shit. I may or may not have cried.

It’s dumb, cute and Christmasy. They make about 1000 iPad jokes, Billy Eichner plays their cousin who’s a tech genius and wants to automate Christmas which I thought was funny. Bill Hader Santa becomes a hippy. There’s a lot of odd little things that make this a good time. I’m against talking during movies, but this would be very fun to watch with your friends and family and make jokes/ comments throughout. The CGI reindeer creeped me out though.

In my opinion, it needs 60% more Bill Hader. He is barely in the movie and it’s a travesty. Anyways if you’re looking for some simple festive joy I would recommend.
