“True Jackson VP is A Stripper”
This film is more about friendship than anything else. The camaraderie between these women is so beautiful, specifically the relationship between Constance Wu and Jennifer Lopez. The cast overall is spectacular but those two, in particular, shine through.
I can’t think of anything really negative things to say about this movie. There are little nit-picky things like I didn’t like the color grading and the drugging and stealing from men. It got repetitive at times and there’s a weird usher cameo that doesn’t further the story at all, but besides that, I enjoyed every moment of this movie.
The soundtrack is amazing. The clothing is amazing – it’s a great look back into 2007. Every member of the cast is really great.
Keke Palmer and Lili Reinhart have smaller roles but really add to the story. The Lizzo and Cardi B scenes are funny and add to the story. Jennifer Lopez is so god damn good, she must have trained so hard for this movie because her dances are mesmerizing.
The whole movie is shot so gorgeously, specially the scenes in the strip club. The color is used very well and you never want to take your eyes off the screen.
I am really happy to see this female lead and directed movie get so much buzz, that it warms my heart. And Lorene Scafaria’s direction is also impeccable. I really liked this movie and I was shocked by how well done it was.
